"Don’t worry. Helping people and killing people are what I’m best at."

This Hawke is overwhelmingly a Humorous/Charming Hawke, choosing to look on the lighter side of the blood-drenched monstrosities flooding the streets of jolly old Kirkwall and make inappropriately timed jokes about them.

She can come off as a mercenary with a cracked heart of gold sometimes, complaining enough about having to fix everyone's problems, yet continuing to do so regardless. Originally, enough of the time it'd be for the reward (since she does really like having money), but it balanced out with just as many times where she's found it does pay to have scruples; letting a boy stuck in a bad place -- one that she'd been in not long ago -- get away with both his life and the loot, allowing mages seeking a better life to escape (to both her future joy and severe detriment), and otherwise having the bad timing and sheer audacity to show up to ‘do the right thing’ when others wouldn’t. As the years went on, she would find herself doing more to help simply out of good will and, well, not wanting the place to burn down. It was kind of her home!

Kind of, up until it wasn't anymore, anyways. Post-game, she still has it in her to note the more humorous things in life, but it isn't always honest. If Hawke wasn't straightforward before, she's even worse now, preferring to crack a joke over reliving the past or revealing what might actually be on her mind. No need to inflict any moping about her many failures on others, she'll keep that to herself, please and thank you.

As far as her friends go, she did leave off on mostly good terms with nearly all them, aside from Anders, who she chose to kill (in this Hawke's case, it was less about retribution and more about fulfilling the man's last wish; he'd finally proven he really was too dangerous and oh how she regrets not believing him sooner) and Sebastian (who she pushed to gtfo of Kirkwall and go back to Starkhaven). That said, she did decide to limit contact with them, lest the Chantry come down on their heads just for staying in touch with her. The one exception would be Varric, her best friend, though even correspondence with him is rare.

On the Mage-Templar problem, she does not agree with nor condones what Anders did, but she certainly understands why. Any peace the Grand Cleric may have offered would only have delayed the inevitable, no matter how much she would have preferred that delay. She is still opposed to the Circles and wary of the Chantry and their Templars, even though she realizes not everyone among them are terrible people. A peaceful solution would have been nice, but with a thousand years of bad blood between the Chantry and magic? Maybe it was a little foolish to hope for...

POWER:

Magic (canon): Hawke is a skilled mage, capable of calling on various kinds of spells and magic to do most of her dirty work for her. It also gives her some natural (and learned) insight into magic in general, along with using it for minor tricks such as summoning a light source or activating whatever element is imbued into her staff and so on and so forth.

Her current spell trees include:

Mage Staff - The Hawke's Key: Added as a power due to being considered exceptional inventory. The Hawke's Key is a staff weapon that causes electric damage. It was originally the key to the cage that held Corypheus, but is thought to be a much older artifact than even the old Warden prison. It was previously attuned to her father, Malcolm Hawke, which is pretty much the only reason it'll work for her at all.

Doglord (non-canon): Dogs adore her. She can’t understand them or anything like that, but they can understand her and will occasionally even listen to her commands. Most the time they just follow her around, though...
