[ And now everyone else in the store is looking their way because of how loudly Hawke just laughed.

Magic. A shirt that just says magic on it. For a mage. Wow. ]

Why do I feel like that might be a little too self-promoting...?

[ Kasumi can't help but give a little laugh of her own. ]

Come on, Hawke. It's so perfect.

Too perfect.

[ But... ]

Oh, why not. I'm somewhere that I can finally rub my magic in everyone's face without making life difficult, so why not go all out?

[stealwithit]

Yeah, and I bet most people won't even realize you're wearing a shirt that says "magic" on it because you can literally do magic. They'll just think you really like this sports team!

[whathawksdo]

And all the people who do know will roll their eyes so hard that they will surely fall from their sockets.

[ And then roll off to see said sports team play sports, probably. Who knows. ]

[ She shrugs a shoulder at that. ]

Sounds like their problem, not ours.

Anyway, you can try it on later. I bet you'd look really cute in it.

I think you mean 'I bet you'd look fantastic in it', not cute.

[ And since they are still in Florida, she'll finally take the worst coat ever off and put it with the rest of the "keep" pile. ]

[ Kasumi rolls her eyes, then speaks as though she's addressing some invisible crowd. ]

Why does everyone hate being called cute?

I can't speak for everyone else, but I have an image of big, scary apostate to maintain. It doesn't go well with cute.

[ She turns back to go through the nearest rack of clothes again, but she isn't finding much else worth pulling out in this one. ]

I'll let you handle the being cute part. How's that?

[ she folds her arms oh, so defiantly. ]

Well, I have an enigmatic image to keep up. That doesn't exactly mesh well with "cute," either.

Oho, so she complains of no one else wanting to be called cute, but won't be called cute herself.

[ Not finding anything else of interest just yet, Hawke picks up what they've already kept out of the racks and takes off for the dressing rooms. This is more so for the sake of being a safe distance away when she adds: ]

Which is, by the way, cute!

[ Kasumi, of course, follows suit. And manages not to get distracted by more trinkets on the way. Good job, Kasumi.

But she waits for Hawke to get into a dressing room, dutifully posting herself against a wall right outside of it. ]

I think that's just called common sense, by the way. You can't have a cute, enigmatic persona. It just doesn't make sense.

[ If she wants to steal random thrift store goodies, hey, Hawke won't say anything.

Mostly due to being in a dressing room and unable to see any potential theft right now, but hey. Speaking of which, give it a few minutes and she'll step out wearing the button down shirt along with the leather coat. Overall, they don't look too bad together, though she still crosses her arms and raises her eyebrows at Kasumi. ]

How doesn't it make sense? I think cute and mysterious work out just fine.

Okay, have you ever seen something mysterious, like a ghost, and thought "aww, how cute?"

[ But she puts her hands on her hips, giving Hawke a surveying look. ]

I want to say it looks good, but I can barely even judge with the way you're folding your arms like that.

Ghosts aren't technically real, you know.

[ Which does not answer the question whatsoever. But! She will unfold her arms after the complaint, instead mimicking Kasumi by also setting her hands on her own hips, only she'll actually go the extra step and strike a pose. ]

Do I also need to spin around while we're at this?

[ She chuckles, and at the very suggestion of spinning: ]

Yep. Absolutely. Spin for me, Hawke.

[whathawksdo]

[ Of course. That's what she gets for suggesting it, but, sure, why not. She can turn around once. ]

Well?

[stealwithit]

You look really good.

[ No hints of sass or even sarcasm there. Because Hawke really does look good! ]

What about do? Do you like it?

[whathawksdo]

[ She looks back down at herself and gives the hem of the jacket an idle tug. ]

Still a very inefficient jacket, but, yes, I think I do.

[stealwithit]

You look really stylish, though.

[ Kasumi's gaze wanders, then, and on a nearby rack, she sees this dress hanging. But she'll wait for Hawke to go back into the dressing room before grabbing it. ]

[ You claim you like one plaid thing and this happens...

It only takes another few minutes for her to switch back to her own shirt -- the tank top -- and then she's out, other clothes draped over one arm. She makes it all of two steps before stopping and giving the dress Kasumi grabbed a suspicious look. ]

What's that for?

[stealwithit]

[ What? Not so proud of your country bumpkin aesthetic after all?

But Kasumi holds the hanger with the offending dress up, a grin spreading across her lips. ]

For you to try on, my dear.

[whathawksdo]

You know, you think it's funny now, but I may decide to spite you by getting nothing but that kind of clothing pattern.

[ It already happened with the coat! Though, this one, even Hawke's a little dubious over, even if she does grin right back at the thief. Fine then, she holds the other clothes out for her to take in trade for the dress. ]

[stealwithit]

Keep that up, and maybe I'll stop hanging out with you for fun.

[ How tragic would that be.

In any case, Kasumi takes the clothes, and waits dutifully for Hawke to return to the fitting room to try on The Dress.

Before long, she moves, giving the nearby clerk an, "oh, we're friends," before she wraps her fingers along the edge of the curtain screening Hawke's fitting room and pulling it juuuust enough to peek her head through. ]

How's it going?

Now that, that is an empty threat.

[ As if it'd take plaid alone to drive someone off.

But then she's popping back into the dressing room and, well, yes, there is a bit of difficulty. Why is there a zipper? Why is there a zipper on the back? Where it's apparently impossible to reach? That's the struggle Kasumi will be peeking in on when she intrudes.

An intrusion that garners a frown, at that, though she doesn't shoo her out. It's not like it's scandalous when she actually is wearing something. ]

I'm beginning to think this is not actually meant to be worn. This thing in the back...
