I haven't seen him in person yet, but I'll probably drop in soon. We just found out that he's gone, so.

He's not in for a party, that's for sure. Not for a while anyway.

Do you really want me to answer that in detail?

Maybe it isn't the best time to be curious.

Honestly, there isn't really a GOOD time to talk about what's going on back home, so I suppose now is fine.

The gist of it is that every 50,000 years or so a machine race sweeps through the galaxy and destroy all sentient life. We just happen to be at the 50,000 year mark.

So a giant Blight with robots.
You and the crew are trying to stop them?

[stealwithit]

Sure. We call them Reapers.
And Shep and the others definitely more than I am, but yeah. Shep was on a mission to stop the Collectors just before this--the Reapers were using them to harvest human colonies. After that, most of our crew parted ways and then the Reapers came through full-force.

But if you were all already fighting the Reapers, why did the crew break up?

Well... when Shep was trying to stop the Collectors, he was sort of under the direction of this organization. The head honcho and Shep had their differences about what to do with the Collector base after the immediate threat was gone. Then Shep got into some more trouble and was placed under house arrest back on Earth, and the military took the Normandy. So we had to break up. Most of us joined on knowing we were just there for that mission, anyway.

So everything falls apart.
There wasn't anyone else to oppose them when they arrived?

Yup.

And no, not really. Shepard had been warning everyone about their arrival for a while but no one seemed to give a damn. And when they came for Earth, everyone else turned away. I'm pretty sure Shep hadn't gotten to that part yet, so... that's something to look forward to.

Only if you actually mean that it's the complete opposite of what someone should be looking forward to.
Is he going to be alright?

The crew?

Of course I meant the complete opposite.
And... well... I don't know anything about what happens after the last thing I remember from home, but... he's alive. So am I. But we lost some people.

Kaidan? Big weird grey guy? Jacob?

Kaidan... well, in my timeline or whatever you'd like to call it, he's fine. So is Garrus, if that's who you meant by big weird grey guy... Jacob's fine, too. And so is Joker.

[ She isn't sure if Hawke knows Samara or Thane, the latter of whom is the only one among them here who Kasumi knows didn't make it, but it's not really in her place to say such a thing especially if Hawke doesn't know the guy. ]

But yes, Garrus. Weird grey guy, the one who isn't darkspawn.
That's good to hear, at least.

[ The rest, unfortunately, she has yet to officially meet. She may have seen them at the party, she may have not, but that they aren't named in even the strange descriptive way should say enough on that matter. ]

It's kind of a mess among the crew when it comes to timelines.

But there you go. Things aren't going to be easy for Shep at home. That's what really worries me...

He's a tough guy.
And he won't be alone.
Not really, even with the lot of you here.

I know. And well, he'll still have the lot of us who are back at home with him. It's not like I've mysteriously disappeared from his timeline because I'm here.

[ Although... she did mysteriously disappear from his life for a time, and for a different reason, being which she didn't want to be involved with Shep's new crusade. ]

He'll still have Kaidan and Garrus and Joker and all the other people who stuck with him.

That isn't very comforting, is it?

No... not really. But I appreciate the thought, Hawke.

If anyone can make it through that mess, it's Shep. He's died once already and that didn't stop him, so.

The first Normandy was destroyed in an attack, and Shep went along with it. This organization spent a fortune to basically reconstruct the Commander.

So Shep isn't the original Shep?

I'm pretty sure it's still the original Shep, but he might have a few missing parts they replaced with tech. Simply put, at least. It's way more complicated than that, but unfortunately the woman in charge of the whole "bring Shep back from the dead" project isn't one of us who got stuck here.

Although... there was a clone of him running around at home at some point. That's what I heard, at least.
